The cosmology of FFIX is very different, and this Garland has a completely different plan. from FF1 initial Garland encounter at the beginning of the game “I, Garland, Will knock you all down!” Well, that escalated quickly. It’s just a case of the name being the same, though it would have been interesting otherwise!
