Is there free parking at CSU?
There is NO free parking on campus. By state statute, parking must pay for itself at CSU. This means revenue must be generated by parking permit fees to pay for parking maintenance, operations and the construction of new parking lots and garages. Please contact us with questions regarding your parking options.
How much is parking at CSU?

Can freshmen have cars at Chico State?
Parking for residential students living on campus is extremely limited. Students are encouraged to consider not bringing a car to Chico State. The campus is very walkable, there is a grocery store and large variety of restaurants within walking distance.

Employees who drive to campus may park in designated Employee (E) Parking Lots on campus (E1, E2, E3, E4, E5, E6, E7, E8, E9, E10, E11). Employees may also park in General (G) Parking Lots including all three parking structures unless the space is otherwise restricted with posted signage.
