Parking and Trail Access
Park beside the trailhead on the north side of the shopping center. To reach the western (Johns Island) terminus: head south on US 17 and turn left on Main Road. The entrance to the trail is 2.5 miles ahead on the right, just before the bridge.

I estimate the length of Pitt St , that extends from near Shem Creek to its end is about 2 miles. From the Quality Inn near the Ravenel Bridge I would estimate it is about 2-3 miles on Coleman Blvd to the beginning section of Pitt St and then you must go the other 2 miles to Pitt Street’s end.
Can you bike from downtown Charleston to the beach?
Charleston is home to one of our favorite bicycle rides … roughly following the Battery to Beach (aka Battery2Beach) route from Isle of Palms to Sullivan’s Island, over the Ravenel Bridge and through the streets of historic Charleston.
