How to pass the Cambridge First Certificate exam
- Get used to reading English fast. Don’t spend too long staring at words you don’t know.
- Practise reading for more time each day. You need to be comfortable reading for a full hour as the reading paper will be that long.

How many points do you need to pass Cambridge exam?
Valid scores on the CAE Exam range from 160 to 210. A score of 180 or above is considered a “pass” and students with that score will receive the Cambridge C1 Advanced certificate, which corresponds to a level C1 in English on the CEFR.
Is Cambridge exam easy?

How is Cambridge calculated?
A candidate’s overall score is calculated by adding all of the individual scores together and dividing by four (and then rounding to the nearest whole number). A candidate’s grade and CEFR level are based on their performance across the whole test, and there is no requirement to achieve a minimum score in each paper.
Does the Cambridge exam expire?
Your Cambridge English exam result/certificate does not have an expiry date*. It shows that on a particular date you demonstrated language skills at a specified level, however, language skills are known to diminish over time if not used and maintained.

Cambridge English qualifications must be taken under supervised exam conditions at an authorised exam centre. They cannot be taken online. We do offer computer-based versions of many of our exams, which follow the same format as the paper-based exams.
