Can you take a dog on a punt in Cambridge?
Yes of course. We would recommend booking a private punting tour, so you and your best friend have more space to enjoy a round trip on the Cambridge river especially if your dog is on the larger size. However, there is also the option to bring your well behaved (small to medium sized) dog onboard a shared punting tour.
Are dogs allowed on punts?
Choose between a punting tour or hire your own punt for your adventure. Note that when joining shared services, we ask that you await a tour where other customers are happy to have your pet on-board. One accompanied, well-behaved dog or other small animal which will not be a danger or a nuisance for other customers or our staff is allowed to travel with you on our buses at the discretion of the driver who may reasonably decide where on the bus the animal is best carried.
Do you tip punting in Cambridge?
There is no obligation to tip what-so-ever, however if you’ve enjoyed yourself it is common to tip. How difficult is it to go on a punting tour? If you can sit on the floor and get back up again (even with a bit of help) then you will be just fine.
Do you have to book punting in Cambridge?
over a year ago. You don’t need to book in advance but it is cheaper if you do. At Let’s Go Punting we only offer a chauffeured service but it is possible to do self hire punting with other companies.

John Lewis now welcomes all dogs in its stores – provided they are well behaved.
Can I take my dog to Oxford?
Unfortunately dogs aren’t allowed in the actual colleges, but there is still plenty of Oxford University to see with your dog.
Do people fall in punting?
Most people would choose the former, but there are people (and more than you might think) who end up falling straight into The Cam. This may well be a treat for those standing on a bridge, sitting at Quayside or eating from The Galleria.
Are dogs allowed in the Westgate Oxford?
You can bring dogs through the centre now. There are signs on the walls at the entrances, but it’s individuals shops’ discretion to allow dogs inside or not, so just ask the shop’s staff. There are restaurants with outside seating areas too, so you can have your dogs there.
