We took the train down to Seward and loved every minute. The train takes scenic routes that are often away from the highways so you have a better chance to see wildlife and the true Alaskan beauty! It was so much fun and I can’t say enough great things. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

Is the Alaskan Railroad worth it?
Worth every penny and I will definitely recommend people take the train to get to their port of call or to see Alaska. I didn’t know what to expect on this train ride, but it was PERFECT! Super glad we booked it. Great way to sightsee on our way to catch our ship in Seward!

We enjoyed our train ride from Denali to Anchorage very much, We spent a bit more money and upgraded to get the all inclusive dining, private open air viewing platform and glass roof. I did feel it was lacking in the first class service but I am not upset we spent the extra to.

Enjoyed it so much we did it twice. We took the train from Anchorage to Denali and back to Anchorage. In one leg we had the regular service and on one leg we had the gold star.
