Can I bring a microwave to UW-Madison?
Appliances should not be operated in closets or other closed areas or close to flammable items. Some appliances are provided in residence hall kitchens (see Kitchens section). One microwave per room is permitted and we recommend low wattage.
What should I bring to UW-Madison dorms?

Fully furnished: Residence halls are fully furnished. Room layouts with furniture configurations can be found on each building’s web page. Kitchens: Each building has a shared kitchen with a sink, stove, oven and microwave (except McMahon Hall).

Single rooms for freshman students are primarily available in Adams and Tripp. Students interested in a single room should preference these halls at the top of their list.
Do UW dorms have AC?
Heatwaves do occur periodically, and campus buildings, including the residence halls, are not air-conditioned. Be prepared for cooler evenings and occasional rain showers.
Does UW-Madison have honors dorms?
There is no Honors dorm at UW-Madison. The L&S Honors Program does, however, recommend that students interested in participating in the Honors Program consider residing in one of the university’s residential learning communities.

Is the food at UW Madison Good?
The food at UW Madison, through the dining hall, is pretty decent. Rheta’s is the best dining hall on campus. It’s located under Chadbourne hall. Food in greater Madison is amazing.
Are waffle irons allowed in dorms?
Banned appliances usually include toaster ovens, slow cookers, hot plates, waffle irons, rice cookers, broilers, electric skillets and hot plates.
Are steamers allowed in dorms?
